This refresh service is for customers who have already had us profile their blades. Every sharpening removes a small amount of steel, and over time your hockey skate profile can gradually change. You'll find a wide range of recommendations online for how often a profile should be refreshed, from a certain number of sharpenings to multiple times per season. The reality is that profile wear depends heavily on how often you sharpen, how your skates are sharpened, and how much steel is being removed. At EDGE, my recommendation is simple: consider a Profile Refresh about once a year, or whenever your skates don't quite feel the way they used to. A refresh isn't about changing a setup you already love. It's about restoring the profile you've become comfortable with and keeping your blades feeling consistent. Love your setup? Keep it that way. We perform all profiling on the SSM Profile Machine. After profiling, the steel will need to be sharpened to a specified hollow. In most cases, we can profile and sharpen for next-day pickup.
